No need to be worried! I've had mine hanging and in frequent use at my desk for the past week and have had zero issues with the shelves falling. I store anything from small bottles, to plants, to recording equipment on them for my videos. But, if you are worried about it, you could totally build some supports!

Hi! I didn't have to sand the inside very much, as it was mostly covered in resin where it needed to be! I just hand sanded small spots.

Hi! Resin and wood were completely level when I was done. Hope you'll share her project with me when she's done!

谢谢你!That happened because of the shape of the molds I used. You can see it better in action in the video when I peel the mold away from the cured coasters. There's a small inset in the coasters help hold any moisture that comes off of the cups.
Thank you so much!

I based my measurements on a planter my parents already had - so that made it a bit easier!

谢谢你!You can use a heat gun, but on super low for a small project like this.
谢谢你!It will work, but just be careful to not have it on too high.

谢谢你!I think it was a perfect storm of things that made the teeth break - grain direction being one. I also made it too thin during the planing process and probably should have let the pour cure for longer. Oh well, all learning experiences!
Mistakes are part of the process! I always share them to help others avoid the same ones when they try in their shops! :)

Yes! I actually love Thompson's and have used it on many outdoor projects!
Hi! It's just bumped up against the spigot, so I can still reach it. We have had the planter outside for about a year now and legitimately have not had any insect problems. From what I've researched, the shou sugi ban/wood burning method on cedar helps make the wood insect repellent, so that could be way. But, either way... I'm good on not touching any spiders, haha.

OH man... what I would do for that TimeMachine! I do think it was a combination grain direction problem and also that I sanded it too thin (boo). Was so happy that the blue one and black one worked well though! They're still going strong!
Thank you so much!
Hi! I used Walrus Oil Cutting Board Oil. Wasn't sure if my friend had any allergies to finishes, so I took the safe route...

谢谢你!The resin does cause the spot that's poured to be slightly raised, but it's nothing too substantial. If you want the entire board to feel level, you could finish the entire piece in a self-leveling table top epoxy coat! I just really like the look of the "raw" wood mixed with the resin ocean pour.
Ohh. That would be awesome, but I have no idea! There may be tutorials on YouTube for pouring on ceramic?
Haha - getting there! My best advice would be to use a thinner line of white resin! Don't throw that out! You can pour another layer on top and try again! It definitely takes some practice, but you're totally getting the hang of it! The shape of those waves are awesome!

谢谢你!It definitely takes some practice to get it right! I mix a good amount of white pigment in the epoxy. I've found that different pigments react differently to the heat. Some flow really nicely, and others don't. You may have to experiment with different brands and types of pigments until you find one you like! Also... don't scrap this one! Let that first layer dry and then pour another layer on top of it in a few hours or tomorrow! Best of luck!
