This may prove "counter-productive" for potential contributors (read unpaid writers). Although the new "BACK TO BASICS" contest may make-up for this. The comment with that contest "Make something fun and educational using common, everyday materials and tools you have in your home!" is not too helpful in explaining exactly what would constitute a "valid" contest entry.

Even though you tried other libraries, it does sound as if the LCD libraries you have used just do not work. So, I might suggest you try an LCD library you have not previously used.
